Getting Started

Tap the red record button to start recording. Select your language from the settings then speak. Your voice is automatically transcribed when you stop. Browse recordings on the calendar or search through transcriptions.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I change the transcription language?

Tap the settings icon then go to the language section before you start recording. Choose from 30+ languages including Hindi, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, and more.

How do I delete a recording?

Swipe left on any recording in the list and tap Delete.

How do I move a recording to a folder?

Swipe right on any recording and tap Move, then select a folder.

Why isn't transcription working?

Make sure you've granted microphone and speech recognition permissions in Settings > Voice Notes. If a language model isn't downloaded, the app will use Apple's secure servers for transcription. To enable offline transcription, go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Dictation > Languages and download your language model.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions > Voice Notes and tap Cancel Subscription.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Open Voice Notes > Settings > tap Upgrade > tap Restore Purchases.

Is my data private?

Yes. All recordings and transcriptions stay on your device. When an on-device language model isn't available, Apple's secure speech recognition servers are used — no third-party services are involved. We do not collect, store, or transmit any data. No account is required.
